Rain happens
"And then? What happened with them?" she asked.
"Nothing" she responded "nothing unusual. They've secretly continued dreaming about each other but have never gotten back together. They have learned to curve the corner of their mouth upwards in situations where others expected them to smile. Even if they didn't care for the meaning of this word anymore, they had the movement under good control. Laughter was no longer a greater adventure than taking out the everyday trash. They have gotten used to it like you get used to seeing dreams come and go and die."
"Sounds unfair to me" the heart whispered.
"Because it is," the senses whispered back "but sometimes last pages remain unwritten and people lose sight of the stories. Someone once told them it's the law and I believe they have never questioned it just gotten used to it, too."
